Dr. Jessica Ramos Rodrigues

Doctor Jessica Ramos Rodrigues, is a medical doctor and integrative medicine specialist at the Center for Health and Rejuvenation. After graduating from Faculté de Médecine, de Pharmacie et d’Odontostomatologie (FMPO) in Dakar in 2018, she started her professional journey in the medical practice of Dr Santos, well known general practitioner in Senegal, specializing in occupational and aviation medicine, as his deputy for a year. She completed her PhD in medicine in 2021, after defending a thesis on extrapulmonary tuberculosis. Since December 2020, she has been developing, practicing, and honing her skills in functional medicine, where she tries to focus on treating the root causes of diseases instead of simply treating symptoms. 

The achievements that she is most proud of are working at a rural primary care in 2018 as a general practitioner, in Pout – Thies, under difficult conditions to which she responded with creative solutions. During her multiple internships at different hospitals, she organized several donations to provide for patients in precarious financial positions. During her first professional experience, she was able, without supervision, to manage the facility while the medical director was away. From these myriad experiences, she gained confidence and learnt to affirm herself.

She aspires to be a reference for functional medicine, and to be part of its expansion, in Ghana. She is passionate about working with children and hopes to become a functional medicine pediatrician. 

On a personal note, she is a lover of God, and has been a worship leader for more than 15 year; it is the main reason she decided to become a doctor: to take care of the creature to be closer to the creator.
